Description:
Fairbridge is a national youth charity that employs 250 staff in 15 teams and 2 offices across the UK (from Dundee to Southampton, Swansea to Kent)

Thousands of young people have given up hope. Outside education, training and employment, they see no future for themselves. We help them to think differently. Using a combination of long term personal support and challenging activities such as canoeing, climbing, caving and hill walking and creative activities including, art, drama, music and healthy food preparation we enable young people to build the self belief, and develop the personal and social skills they need to change their lives.

As a development tutor with Fairbridge West you will plan, deliver and administer a range of sessions and courses (including residential) to young people. With skills in outdoor education and proven work experience you will have at least 3, if not more of the following qualifications:

MLTB Single Pitch Award
MLTB Mountain Leader (summer)
BCU Level 2 Coach Canoe/Kayak
BCA Local Cave and Mine Leader Award Level 1
Mountain Instructor Award
A full clean driving licence with D1+E minibus and Trailer entitlement
Mountain First aid Certificate

Your ability to inspire and relate to our challenging client group is essential and your creativity in course design is key to a successful development programme.

In return, we offer a fun and supportive work environment as well as development opportunities. Working only Monday-Friday, you will also receive 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays) rising to 32 days with length of service and employer pension contributions and childcare vouchers. We have a strong commitment to staff development including 5 individual days training allowance per year. This is a great opportunity to develop your career in the outdoor development sector and gain the security of a permanent job in a well respected charity.
