With trailer out of the way and the BB supported
by straps front and rear it is time to get her trestle made. We used
some salvaged timber from a friend who installs gargae doors. Some hefty
pieces of 4"x4" to make two end trestles with cross pieces
from 2"x3" timber. Half lap joints and 5 screws in each joint
ensure a very strong set of legs.
All the trestle legs are positioned below the waterline
and we have placed a piece of ply and several scraps of carpet to spread
the load and protect the hull. The two trestles are held together with
some 3"x1" to stop any movement.

A huge baulk of timber supplied by Nick Lancaster
supports the keel. It might look a bit shoddy but the whole thing is
a solid as a rock. With all the bits in place the tension on the straps
was slowly and carefully released. A few taps with a mallet placed the
trestles perfectly. The straps have been left just off the surface of
the hull as an extra safety measure.
We don't plan to work inside the boat while she is on the frames, any
last touches will be done when she is back on her trailer.
With this arrangement we can varnish the topsides
in one go, there goes another weekend and a few evenings!
